25-28 Sep abstracts:20 March	Murca, Spain	European Symposium on Marine Protected Areas - as a Tool for Fisheries Management and Ecosystem Conservation The symposium seeks to integrate ecological, economic and social aspects of MPA development, and to facilitate interactive scientific, management and policy discussions. Emphasis will be placed on cross-sectorial, innovative and broadly applicable approaches, including interaction with stakeholders in dealing with multiple management objectives in the design, management and evaluation of MPAs.
22 March	Global	World Water Day Theme 2007: "Coping with water scarcity". The international observance of World Water Day is an initiative that grew out of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro.Add your event here
22-23 March	European Commission, Brx	European Water Conference 2007 The European Commission's Environment Directorate-General, in cooperation with the Joint Research Centre, Eurostat and the European Environment Agency. The opening of the conference coincides with World Water Day. On the conference, Environment Commissioner Stavros Dimas will present the first implementation report for the Water Framework Directive. On the same day, the Water Information System for Europe (WISE) will be launched.
