Sportvisserij Nederland represents more than 500.000 Dutch anglers
in a country where more than 1 million people go fishing every year
, including more than 200.000 children. The association is devoted to promoting angling in the Netherlands as an environmental low impact activity
that generates substantial socio-economic benefits. Policy advocacy, educational programmes for youngsters and fish stock management activities
are at the heart of Sportvisserij Nederland’s mission and many activities are carried out thanks to the work of volunteers that keep the local clubs active.
The association also coordinates big ecosystems restoration projects and provides high-level expertise to public authorities and fishing clubs in the fields of fisheries biology, aquatic ecology, data collection and fish stock management
with the objective of having healthy fish stocks in healthy waters: the right way to go to have a thriving recreational fisheries sector!
